Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a SAP?

If you operate in a USDOT-defined safety-sensitive role and have failed or missed a mandated drug or alcohol test, you must consult a substance abuse professional (SAP) before becoming eligible to take a return-to-duty (RTD) test.

What is the Return-To-Duty (RTD) Process?

As a designated SAP, we conduct an initial evaluation and provide recommendations for education or treatment. Upon completing the recommended program, we will reassess your compliance and establish a follow-up testing plan.

What Does the SAP Program Cost?

The fee for the RTD SAP service, including two assessments and the required paperwork, is $525, payable when you book your first assessment.

Though this may seem costly, each day out of duty costs a driver an average of $300. Our program costs less than two days of your potential earnings! Investing in our RTD program shows your commitment to your career and financial well-being.

Don’t let more days slip by; the path back to duty is more affordable than you think!

How Long Does the SAP Process Take?

The duration of the RTD process varies for each individual. Simple cases can be resolved in as little as four days, while more complex situations may take longer. After our initial assessment, we will provide a clearer estimate of your specific timeline.

Can My CDL Get Downgraded if I Don't Resolve a Violation in Clearinghouse?

Yes! According to Federal Register Number 2021-21928 as of 11/8/2021 your license is subject to downgrade by the state you are licensed in if you do not resolve your violation. We have heard from several clients that some states are already in compliance with this ruling but all states will are required to participate by 2024.
